Casey Stoner has started this weekend’s Spanish MotoGP with a vengeance by taking top slot on the time sheets in the first practice session today. Stoner was the only rider to get into the 1 min 43 sec bracket.

Marco Simoncelli, who has been the subject of criticism following his crash with Dani Pedrosa at Le Mans answered his detractors by taking second place.
