MotoGP practice got underway today at Silverstone, and despite the chilly conditions, Casey Stoner continued his red-hot form by dominating the timesheets. Stoner had instant form and set the pace early on with a comfortable margin over the rest of the riders.

Simoncelli and Lorenzo filled out the top 3, with Nicky Hayden in a close 4th.

Colin Edwards passed his medical and made his return after breaking his collarbone last weekend, and ended the session in last place.

Silverstone is one of the few tracks that MotoGP rookie Cal Crutchlow has actually raced on before, and his experience saw him break into the top 6.
