Maverick Vinales took victory in the Dutch 125cc race after it was red flagged due to rain. The race started off at a frantic pace with the lead changing multiple times, often in the same lap, as Salom, Vazquez, Zarco, Vinales, and Gadea all battled for the front.

The rain began to get heavier after 10 laps and the more experienced riders like Gadea and Cortese started to make signals to try and get the race stopped. Vinales used the opportunity to press ahead and stretch out a gap at the front and with 7 laps to go the race was red flagged.
