Marc Marquez opened his Moto2 points account with an impressive victory at Le Mans.

After getting a little swamped at the start, the Spanish rider managed to catch up with a leading group of riders that included Luthi, Takahashi, Simon, and Bradl, and made his break for the front in the last few laps.

As the others battled for second position, Marquez used the opportunity to pull out a gap and take a comfortable 1.9 second victory.

Yuki Takahashi took second place and Bradl took third.

Andrea Iannone, who was the rider closest to Bradl on Championship Points, was notable by his absence from the leading group after crashing out on the first lap.
