Jorge Lorenzo produced a perfect victory in Valencia after a challenging start that saw him almost crash after colliding with Marco Simoncelli.

Casey Stoner held an early lead and took second place after being challenged by Lorenzo, and Valentino Rossi finished his career at Yamaha in third position.
