Dani Pedrosa has been ruled out of this weekend’s Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang.
Pedrosa broke his collarbone in three places after a crash in a practice session at Motegi last weekend. Despite the injury, Pedrosa was insistent that he would do what he could to be fit enough to race this weekend – Pedrosa’s doctors have now ruled this out, and Dani has been deemed unfit to race.
Repsol Honda released a Press Release stating :
“After careful consideration he has made the understandable decision to stay at home to continue his recovery. The target for his return remains the Australian Grand Prix, practice for which begins on 15 October. In his absence, the Repsol Honda Team will not field a replacement rider this weekend, and so Andrea Dovizioso will fly the flag alone for the factory Honda squad in Malaysia.”
Pedrosa’s absence from the race means that Jorge Lorenzo now only needs to secure a Top 10 finish in order to be crowned World Champion this weekend.
