The rain was the star of the first free practice in Estoril and put an end to any chance of a meaningful session for the riders.

For the second practice of the day the track had started to dry out, and towards the end of the session a flurry of fast laps were squeezed in that ended with Jorge Lorenzo holding the top slot.
