Or rather lack of practice times. Heavy rain and wind put paid to the first MotoGP free practice session at Estoril. Only Hiroshi Aoyama, Hector Barbera, Aleix Espargaro and Carlos Checa ventured out on the track to test out the conditions.

All of them came back in except for Aoyama who did his best to bank a few laps, with his fastest coming in at 2m 21.217s.
