Stefan Bradl took a hard fought victory against Alex Baldolini in the Moto2 race in Estoril.

The majority of the race was led by Moto2 newcomer, and World Supersport champion, Kenan Sofuoglu. Sofuoglu grabbed an early lead from Gabor Talmasci at the start of the race and comfortably held his position until the final 3rd of the race when he became challenged by the hard charging duo of Bradl and Baldolini.

Andrea Iannone looked to be a podium contender as he stormed up the field from 34th on the grid to 4th position – despite some heroic riding, his luck failed and he lost the front on turn 1 as he was about to mount a challenge against the leading 3 riders.

Julian Simon finished in 12th, but Iannone’s crash means he is still the favourite to claim 2nd place in the overall championship standings.
