The 125cc Championship was blown wide open today at Aragon, as Marc Marquez was taken out at the first corner by Randy Krummenacher.
Espargaro and Terol took the early lead and played a game of cat and mouse with each other for the bulk of the race, with each rider letting the other take turns at the front. The gloves were off by the last 5 laps and Terol looked to have the race win secured as he slowly managed to stretch out his lead. Espargaro responded and by the final lap both riders were neck and neck, with Terol riding a very defensive race and cutting off all overtaking options for Espargaro.
On the entry to the final turn Espargaro was close enough to slipstream Terol and overtook on the outside (as Terol concentrated on blocking the inside line) to reach the apex of the final turn ahead of Terol and claim victory by only 0.050sec.
