Rizla Suzuki team manager Paul Denning was in attendance at this weekend’s BSB race at Brands Hatch with Alvaro Bautista, who was riding a number of demo laps on his Suzuki for the crowd.
More interesting than Bautista’s parade laps, was Denning getting quizzed by British Eurosport. Denning revealed that Suzuki were intending to remain in MotoGP for 2011, but was not clear what the future held beyond that. 2011 will mark the final season that MotoGP will be contested on 800cc bikes before the series moves to 1000cc rules in 2012.
Denning also indicated that poor results on track and a lack of clarity on the economic model and the gains to Suzuki as a whole, could put the the team’s participation in MotoGP from 2012 in very real jeaopardy.
