Alvaro Bautista has been ruled out of this weekend’s MotoGP race in Brno.

Bautista suffered a crash in the practice session this morning (Saturday) and was carried off to the medical center on a stretcher. He was later transferred to hospital in Brno and was admitted with a suspected back injury.

**UPDATE**

Rizla Suzuki team manager has revealed that Bautista has suffered a fracture of his T5 vertebra. The team will decide tomorrow if Bautista is fit to race – however he will have to start from the back of the grid due to missing the qualifying session.
