Yuki Takahashi 8th – 21-points
“When you consider the problems that I’ve been experiencing throughout the whole weekend, I’ve got to be really happy with this result, even if it is not the outcome we all want at Tech 3 Racing. We found a good setting for the race and the chatter issue I had before was quite a lot less and this enabled me to find a reasonably good pace and at least put up a strong fight in the group I was in. Debon, Simon and de Angelis all have a lot of experience so it was not easy, so I’m happy to finish at the front of the second group. I know we have the potential to fight in the top group and that is where I’m aiming to be at the next race in Silverstone.”
Raffaele de Rosa DNF – 0-points
“Today is another big disappointment for me and I am upset not to have finished my home race and build some confidence. I had a really bad chatter from the front-end and nothing like we’d experienced during the weekend. The bike had the same setting as yesterday and this morning when I didn’t have a problem, so this is very strange. I’ve checked the data and we can see the chatter but we need to do a deeper analysis to understand exactly what caused the problem. It is a shame because I was very confident but we have to move on and try and bounce back strongly for the next race in Silverstone.”
Herve Poncharal – Team Manager
“We knew it was going to be a tough mission for Yuki from 19th on the grid but he has done an amazing race. He might have been able to fight with the front group if he was a bit higher up the grid but unfortunately a crash at the end of qualifying made his job today difficult. But he was aggressive and he was able to fight his way to the front of his own battle and collect some vital points for Tech 3 Racing. It is another big disappointment for Raffaele. He was super motivated to do well in front of his home crowd but he has crashed again and we have to work hard to understand his problems. But he has to learn he must finish races in order to gain experience because he is crashing too much. I have to also congratulate Andrea Iannone because he was able to open up a big gap. In what is an incredibly close class that is very difficult and he did a really good job. I’m confident with the potential of Tech 3 Racing that we will be fighting at the front again in Silverstone.”
