AMA PRO RACING TO RACE WITH THE MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AT MAZDA RACEWAY LAGUNA SECA
At the Sixth Annual Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix July 23-25, 2010
MONTEREY, Calif. (January 4, 2010) -The MotoGP World Championship returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in 2010 and the AMA Pro Racing Series will be the support series for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix. The 2010 race marks the sixth consecutive visit for MotoGP and AMA racing together at the historic Monterey circuit.
The 2010 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will host three classes of AMA Pro racing slated to run at the world renowned racetrack on July 23- 25: AMA SuperSport, AMA Daytona SportBike and AMA American Superbike.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has a rich history of motorcycle racing starting with Cal Rayborn riding a Harley-Davidson to victory at the first AMA national race held at the track in 1972 to Nicky Hayden (the youngest ever AMA Superbike Champion) on his victory lap with the American flag waving in 2005.
The tiered pricing structure for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix worked to great effect when it was rolled out in 2009 as it enabling fans to see in advance when the maximum discounts would be offered. The Phase One pricing structure for the 2010 event ends Friday, January 29. The next deadline date to note is Wednesday, March 31, when the Phase Two pricing expires. Phase Three pricing ends at 4:00 p.m. PST on Monday, July 19, with all tickets purchased after that time being at the face-value cost.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was established in 1957. The world-renowned raceway has been operated since its inception by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), a not-for-profit 501C(4) corporation. Each race season, SCRAMP donates its net proceeds to the volunteer groups that help put on the races.
