Hiroshi Aoyama takes the 250cc World Championship in a tense 250cc race whih saw Barbera win after Simoncelli crashed out from the lead.
Aoyama ran off the track in lap nine and dropped to eleventh position (Aoyama needed a finish of 11th or above to claim the title). Crashes from Di Meglio and Jules Cluzel helped Aoyama pick up a few places, but it was Simoncelli’s crash with 7 laps to go that assured Aoyama the title.
