Fiat Yamaha dominated the first practice session in Brno. Rossi was initially fastest, but Lorenzo pushed hard and logged an untouchable time of 1:56:595.
Dani Pedrosa ended in third position, and Edwards was the fastest of the satellite teams finishing in 4th place with a time of 1:57:741.
Mika Kallio got off to a flying start as the replacement for Casey Stoner and finished in 7th position. More importantly, Kallio was half a second faster than Nicky Hayden, which will probably cause some sleepless nights for The Kentucky Kid.
