Honda issued a comment to Reuters stating that despite their recent withdrawal from the FIA Formula One World Championship and their latest announcement that it was considering withdrawing from almost all other forms of motobike sports, they have confirmed that the company remains committed to MotoGP.
Honda have forecasted a 190 billion yen operating loss for the second half of the 2008-09 financial year.
Honda spokeswoman Akemi Ando told the Reuters news agency:
“We have not formally decided yet but we have been looking into the option of pulling out. It is something we have been thinking about for a while since we pulled out of Formula One. We have no plans to leave MotoGP.”
