A minor fuss was made recently in the Tech 3 Yamaha garage as James Toseland stole the crew-chief of Colin Edwards, and swapped him with his own crew-chief, crazy haired, Guy Coulon. Toseland had cited ‘communication problems’ with Coulon, and Edwards made some statements in the press about how he was unhappy with the forced switch – which must have left Coulon feeling like the crazy relative that nobody wanted to let in their home in case he pissed in the house-plants again. But after the recent test in Jerez last week, Edwards seems to have struck up a strong working relationship with him.
In an interview to MotoGP.com, Edwards said:
`Working with him these past two days been really awesome. Guy is fantastic, and we all know that he´s a borderline genius in terms of what he´s done in the past. I made it clear at the last race that I don´t want to reinvent the wheel, going off in some wild direction. We know what Valentino (Rossi) has done this season, we know what settings he has, so we should just keep in close contact with Nakajima and run around that.´
Edwards´ will get his hands on the his new Yamaha early next year at the next round of testing.
