This is either….
A) A new Kawasaki chassis with loads of weight stripped off to get Hopkins and West up to speed with the rest of the MotoGP field, or
B) A Kawasaki PR photoshoot that nobody really enjoyed….

Forget the battle for 2nd place in the championship at Philip Island, forget Casey Stoner having to ride with the pain of a hand injury….it’s that guy in the middle of the photo below that had the toughest job in MotoGP this week. He had to get Ant West up in the morning to attend a PR stunt for a team that is sacking him, and had to get John Hopkins up in time to shake off a hangover (probably), find his diamond stud ear-rings, and then get on a pedal bike and sweat out the booze for a contractual PR obligation.

He got them on bikes! West looks unsteady and uncomfortable

He has to keep Hopkins from swaying everywhere, and in a nice straight line so the photo won’t look blurred.
